Job Summary

The Database developer administers and maintains the SQL Server database for the court's case management system, creates and modifies database procedures, functions and reports, fine tunes queries. Extracts and transfers data to external organizations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under direction, administers and maintains the data tables for the Court to improve court reports. Develops and maintains application programs.

Monitors and analyzes databases and their effectiveness to meet Court needs and specifications.

Performs database backups and restores as required.

Tests databases by working with programmers to ensure proper operation of the database and the database is error free. Works with programmers, IT team, and other Court department directors to problem-solve issues of the database.

Performs database tune-ups to improve database performance. Works with development team to integrate modules together. Works with team to test any errors that must be fixed.

Works with Network Administration to resolve any performance problems or issues.

Creates new application programs and/or modifies existing application programs as assigned by IT management.

Creates/modifies the reports using SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)

Writes queries to produce adhoc reports as and when the court needs.

Adheres to Department policies and procedures.

Migrates data between versions of software.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Has no direct supervisory responsibility for staff members.

Equipment Operated

Standard office equipment and office technology such as copy machines, personal computers and telephones.

Confidential Data

All court-related information regarding hearings, etc. that the employee may come in contact with by working in the facility.

Working Conditions

Works in a general office setting with moderate noise levels.

Usual Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, to speak clearly, and to hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or related field.

AND

Three (3) years of verifiable work experience with Sql Server writing t-sql script,user defined Functions, stored procedures, SSRS and SSiS packages.

 Experience with .Net frameworks, C#, and Asp.Net a plus.  Asp.N SQL Server 2019
